Schools We Serve

Powerful Schools serves more than 4,000 children across more than ten economically and racially diverse neighborhoods of Seattle, Tukwila, and Highline school districts.

Characteristics of the students and families we serve:

  • 85% are ethnic minorities 
  • 65% qualify for free or reduced lunch (the Seattle district's average is 44%)
  • 37% are from single-parent households
  • 51% of our single mothers are below poverty level*
  • 25% are English-language learners
  • 92.5% of our five year olds are below poverty status*

We work with schools to customize our programs based on their needs and the resources we're able to raise (see what it costs to run a program).
