If you do, YMCA Powerful Schools has several volunteer opportunities for you!

On-Going Volunteer Positions

After School Program: We are currently recruiting volunteers for our after school enrichment classes for Kindergarten through fifth grade students at six schools: Beacon Hill International, Graham Hill, Hawthorne, John Muir, Maple and Orca (all in southeast Seattle). Volunteers help instructors in a variety of classes including science, math, homework help, art and many more. Volunteers typically work 1-2 hours a week. Classes are right after school, Monday-Thursday.

Our Spring session is April 6 – May 28th, 2015.

Summer Camps: Volunteers are needed to support our summer camps at Beacon Hill International School, Graham Hill, John Muir and Orca elementary schools. Camps run June 22 – Aug 8 and volunteers commit to a morning and/or afternoon for the week.

Education Steering Committee: Work with a group of community leaders to help shape the strategic and financial direction of YMCA Powerful Schools. Committee members attend monthly meetings and play an active role in fundraising on behalf of YMCA Powerful Schools.
