Recent Success: During the 2010-2011 school year, 100% of teachers whose classroom received Powerful School’s In-Class Arts programs felt that arts learning enhanced or greatly enhanced learning in other core academic areas, including science, social studies, math, reading and writing.
In Powerful Schools’ In-Class Learning Program, we provide classrooms with in-class artist residencies and writing coaching for teachers that increase classroom-wide student engagement in literacy and arts. Through alternative teaching methods Powerful Schools is able to reach non-traditional and traditional learners alike. Last year we offer programming in 54 classrooms, serving more than 1,400 students.
